Are dark elves and drows the same?
Dark elves were elves, known as Ssri-tel-quessir in the elven tongue, and were the ancestors of the drow. The two terms were oftentimes used interchangeably, even by elves (Tel-quessir) themselves. Dark elves had dark brown skin, as opposed to the the ebony skin that drow had, and pale hair.

How tall are drows?
They were shorter than many other sub-races of elves, and while there was no average height difference between male and female drow, males were on average a bit heavier. They usually varied in height from four feet seven inches to five feet five inches and weighed from 80 to 155 pounds on average.
