Jonathan Ruffer bought Auckland Castle in Bishop Auckland, County Durham, in 2012 and saved a collection of 17th Century Spanish paintings in the process. He is turning the castle into an international arts, faith and heritage centre.

What’s it like at 11 arches?
Well done 11 Arches. Rules and more relaxed with backpacks allowed in, the volunteers are just as brilliant and helpful as ever, and we just had the best time. Definitely booking for their fireworks show in November (if I can get tickets as it sells out, no wonder!).
