Can you use wood in a gravity fed smoker?
If you want to add wood, we recommend using 1 to 2 chunks of wood mixed into the charcoal in the hopper. Make sure the wood is positioned away from the rubber fan flap. As the charcoal ignites, the chunks will ignite, adding smoke to your cook.

What is the minion method?
The Minion Method allows you to cook for hours without having to add new charcoal halfway through your cook. It works by creating a circle around your charcoal grate with around 2kg of Weber Briquettes and then adding between 1 or 2kg of lit briquettes into the middle of the unlit briquettes.
Can you put wood chunks in Masterbuilt gravity smoker?

Meat smoking is best in the range of 200 to 220 degrees Fahrenheit. To be safe, most meats need to be cooked to an internal temperature of 145 degrees and poultry to 165 degrees. However, to get real tender barbecue you want a higher final temperature, say around 180 degrees.
