Is UCSB Rec Center free for students?
Child/teen of current, full time UCSB student, age 17 and under are free for access during the permitted times of the academic year. Child/teen of Rec Cen Members (Annual & 3 Month Membership Only) are permitted within the facility during the same given hours as children/teens of UCSB students.
How many pools does UCSB have?
The UCSB Recreation Center opened in 1995 with 100,000 sq. ft. and has been one of the most popular spots on campus ever since. The original Rec Cen has two swimming pools, two gymnasia, two weight rooms, two squash courts, and five racquetball courts.

Is UCSB track open?
The track is open at approximately sunrise and closes around 11:30 p.m. The track is open specifically for UCSB students, but is still considered open to the general public.
What is rec center in rec room?
The Rec Center (formerly known as the “Locker Room”) is the public area between your Dorm Room and other rooms (#RecRoomOriginal Games and Custom Rooms). If you walk out the door of your Dorm Room, you will be at the entrance to the Rec Center.

How many UCSB students work at the recreation aquatics facilities?
The Recreation Aquatics facilities employ over 95 UCSB students as either Guards or Swim Instructors. Thank you to CMC Rescue who has kindly donated a new ADA lift cover to the Rec Cen pools, free of charge.
Where are the sand volleyball courts located at UCSB?
Two sand volleyball courts are located next to the Rec Cen in-between Rob Field and The Pit. The courts are used for Intramural Sport teams as well as open recreation . When not reserved for group use, UCSB students, staff & faculty may use the space on a drop in basis.
Is there a tennis court at UCSB?
Normal operation Hours are the same as the main building. Use requires a valid Recreation Center membership. UCSB has three sets of tennis courts. The Arhnold Tennis Center (previously known as Rob Gym Tennis Courts) located between Rob Gym and Pauley Track.
