Do narrow wide chainrings need special chain?
Before narrow wide chainrings, it was always necessary to mount a chainguide to prevent the chain from dropping. Now when using a narrow wide chainring, you don’t need to use a chainguide at all. This keeps thing nice and simple!
Will narrow wide chainring work with 8 speed chain?

Can you use a narrow wide chainring with a front derailleur?
To be clear it will not work with a derailleur as there would be nothing to stop the narrow chain link going onto the wide tooth. It does not take much imagination to work out how long the chain will last. Shift by hand with no derailleur will work.

Are 10 and 11 speed chainrings the same?
SRAM 11 speed chainrings sit slightly farther apart than 10 speed rings do, so running a 10 speed chain on 11 speed rings will dramatically increase the chances of jamming a chain between rings during a front shift.
