Are your rocker arms aligned with your valve stems?
Anyway, there are several rocker arms that are not aligned very well with the valve stems. One or two have less than half of the roller contacting the valve stem, and one roller even appears to have been discolored a little from what seems like excessive wear/load.
How many rocker arms does the guide plate control?
The guide plate controls two rocker arms each. Look for a pettern in the contact points that will give you a clue as to what’s going on.
Are my rollers centered on the valve stems?
Here’s the roller path on the valve stems, or at least these pictures are as good as I can take. With the valves closed, the rollers are close to being centered on the valve stems, but are just slightly toward the inboard side. At max lift, they are slightly closer to the outboard egde of the valve stem. They look OK to me. See what you guys think.
Is it possible to widen the rocker slot?
Not planning on widening the slot. To do so would increase the range of movement the rocker has. OK, Here are some pics of the rockers and lifter dog bones… Glad you got new plates ordered, I would think at those angles it would put some odd angled tension on the rods and might bend or break one.
