What happens at a community midwife appointment?
Following the birth the community midwife will visit you at home, the day after your discharge from hospital. This visit is to assess your health and your baby’s health and carry out a safe sleep assessment. Our community midwives also support women who choose to have a home birth. The service is available 9am-5pm, seven days a week.
