Why is my O2 SIM locked?
If you enter the wrong pin too many times, your sim will be blocked and you won’t be able to make and receive calls or texts. When this happens, you’ll need your PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) code to unblock your sim. To find your PUK code, enter your number below.
Does PAC Code unlock phone?
If you’ve come to the end of your contractand are moving on to a new network you will need to request a free Porting Authorisation Code (PAC) to keep the same number. You may also need to get your handset unlocked by requesting an unlocking code from your old provider.
Is The PUK code located on the SIM card?
Your PUK code is the 8 digit number found on either the SIM or the additional SIM packaging. By default, your PIN code is the last 4 digits of your PUK code – but obviously if you’ve changed your PIN code yourself, this will no longer apply.
Will O2 unlock my phone for free?

What happens if your SIM is locked?
Then, every time you restart your device or remove the SIM card, your SIM card will automatically lock and you’ll see “Locked SIM” in the status bar. Don’t try to guess your SIM PIN. The wrong guess can permanently lock your SIM card, which means that you would need a new SIM card.

- Contact the carrier that gave you the SIM card.

Can I unlock my O2 phone?
If it is indeed locked, then you can follow the rest of this guide. Note also that since June 2018 it is completely free to unlock any O2 phone at anytime. If you want to use your O2 contract or PAYG phone with a SIM from another network, ie a local SIM when on holiday, you will need to release the network lock.
Can I put a non-O2 Sim in my O2 phone?
If you’re on Pay Monthly, you’ll still need to see out the minimum term of your contract, even if you put a non-O2 sim in your device. The easiest way to unlock your device is in My O2: Select ‘More’ in the menu bar at the top of the page Select ‘Unlock your device’. Call us on 202 from a Pay Monthly phone, or 4445 from a Pay As You Go phone.
How do I transfer my Number from one O2 SIM to another?
To move your mobile number across to your new sim, sign in to My O2. If you’re an O2 Business customer, please sign in to My O2 Business to swap your sim. Sim swaps can take up to 24 hours to complete. Once you lose signal with your original sim, turn your device off.
What happens if my Sim is lost or stolen from O2?
† Free from an O2 Pay Monthly mobile, other providers’ charges may vary. If your sim has been lost or stolen, you’ll need to contact us by phone to block your sim and order a replacement. Your replacement sim will come activated and set up with your existing number, so all you need to do is insert it into your device.
