Shift Registers: The Shift Register (SR) instruction shifts data through a predefined number of BIT locations. These BIT locations can be a range of BITs, a single Word or DWord, or a range of Words or DWords. The instruction has three inputs. Data, Clock, and Reset.

Build the Circuit
- Connect the shift register to the breadboard.
- Connect the eight LEDs.
- Connect the current-limiting resistors for the LEDs.
- Some of the shift register’s pins need to be connected to power or ground.
- Connect each of the shift register’s output pins to the LED it will control, using jumper wires.
How does data shifting work in the Omron cp1h plc?

When the shift input condition is true the data input (1 or 0) will be put in bit 00 of the starting word and all of the previous bits are shifted to the left.
