How accurate is the BACtrack S80?
The S80 Pro will accurately measure trace concentrations of alcohol right through to 0.400 ºC.
Does BACtrack Mobile need calibration?
Over time, all alcohol testers need to be calibrated to maintain accuracy, even police units. For the Professional Grade BACtrack breathalyzers, such as the S80, Element and BACtrack Mobile, we recommend that you send them in for calibration about once a year.
How often should you calibrate a breathalyzer?
In general, a personal breathalyzer device will indicate that calibration is required after 1 year or 5000 tests; breathalyzers for law enforcement should be calibrated once per month.
How do I reset my BACtrack?

IMPORTANT: Users must wait 20 minutes after eating, drinking, or smoking before blowing into the S80 Pro Breathalyzer. Failure to wait 20 minutes can provide inaccurate test results and may damage the sensor.
What happens if I don’t calibrate my BACtrack S80 pro?
Not calibrating the unit per the suggested time frames can harm the sensor. Pro Grade Breathalyzers (such as the BACtrack S80 Pro, Trace Pro, or Mobile Pro) hold calibration longer than do the non-Pro Grade units (such as the BACtrack S35, Vio or Keychain).
How do I calibrate my BACtrack breathalyzer?
All BACtrack breathalyzer calibrations are done at our San Francisco, CA facility. In order to get your unit calibrated, follow the steps on our calibration page: Breathalyzer Calibration. You must have a credit or debit card to use this method.
How do I run a test on the S80 pro?
Press the Start button. The S80 Pro will quickly display the total number of tests performed, and then begin a countdown. When the countdown approaches 2, begin to inhale a deep breath. When the countdown reaches zero, “START” will flash and the screen will display three lines.
