Re: Uniqlo ultra light down warm enough? My experience is that Uniqlo Ultra Light Down is adequate for 10 degrees Celsius (50 degrees Fahrenheit). Adding a layer or two of Uniqlo Heat Tech should be ok for 0 degrees Celsius. Worst case, if you are chilly, you could buy another layer locally.
Is UNIQLO coat warm?
Uniqlo also makes an extra warm (heavyweight) HeatTech but the fabric feels like wearing rubber. Stay away from the compact Ultra Light Down; it’s a fashion item, too thin to be useful in winter and simply not cost-effective. Be sure to get gloves or mittens and a knit hat.

The Uniqlo Ultra Light Down Parka is a surprisingly able puffy from a large fashion brand. While it doesn’t have as many of the fancy features and materials of higher-end outdoor gear, it does give you solid down (likely in the 600 fill range) and a DWR nylon shell in a lightweight, packable package.
How warm are UNIQLO parkas?
Uniqlo itself says the jacket is “incredibly warm” thanks to its down material and bio-warming padding. If you live in an area where the temperature regularly goes well below freezing or if you spend a lot of time stood around outside without moving you might need a more heavyweight coat.
How do you know if a puffer jacket is too big?
Stretch your hands above your head and see where the hem of your jacket rests. If the jacket has ridden up to the extent that it exposes your stomach, then it’s probably not the right length. You also don’t want it so short in the body that your jumper pokes out at the bottom.
