De start begint vrij rustig, maar zeer waar, maar gelukkig koelt het sterk af vanaf ongeveer 1000 meter en heb je van de hitte dus weinig last.

It is in no way comparable with the Alpe D’Huez… Als ervaren Mont Ventoux beklimmer (>15 x) zeg ik; onderschat deze prachtige (kale)berg niet ! De klim vanaf Bedoin vind ik saai en zwaar is. Persoonlijk vind ik vanaf Malaucene mooier. Vanaf Sault is de klim lang maar mooi en daardoor minder zwaar.
