Is the x79 good for gaming?
Not worth it. Video editing and rendering maybe. It’s been a long time since those xeons came out and they show their age. They are just bad for gaming now due to the low clockspeed and basically they push a bit over 60fps in most cases and that is it.

What is the X79 chipset used for?
