Broad edge nibs already have a wide surface to make thick strokes, no pressure necessary. Instead, holding the writing edge of the pen at a consistent angle as you write makes contrasting thin strokes.

What size nib should I get?

EF (extra-fine). A nib that will give a line width of around 0.4mm. Suitable for those with very small writing. F (fine). A nib that will give a line width of around 0.6mm.
What do you dip a nib in?
Dip the pen in ink to just above the middle hole in the nib (the “vent”), and give the pen a firm shake to encourage excess ink off. Maintain a 45 degree-ish angle between the paper and the pen. Always exert even pressure to both tines of the nib; do not apply more pressure to one side or the other.
