What causes a Baxi boiler to lose pressure?
There could be debris inside the pressure relief valve. This is the safety valve that usually discharges water if the pressure in the system gets too high. If it is dripping with water and the pressure gauge is too low, your Gas Safe registered engineer will need to clean out or replace the safety valve.
What does E119 mean on my boiler?
low water pressure
As we can see here, the fault code on the front of the boiler is flashing E119 and E119 on Baxi means low water pressure, so you’d just have a look at your gauge there and you would see that it’s below into the red, which means that the pressure needs to be topped up.
Can I Repressurise a boiler myself?
First, switch off your boiler and give it sufficient time to cool. Check the filling loop, making sure both ends are attached and secure. Then, open the two valves, you should hear the mains cold water entering the system. Keep the valves open until the pressure reading on your boiler gets to 1.5 bar.
Can I still use my boiler if the pressure is low?
If the boiler pressure is too high, there’s an increased chance of leaks developing in the system. But if boiler pressure is too low, the system won’t work as well. So keeping the correct boiler pressure is important to make sure that your system heats your home efficiently.
What causes a combi boiler to lose pressure?
Your combi boiler can be losing pressure for a number of reasons. Pressure loss may be caused from a leak in the pressure relief valve, an issue in the expansion vessel, air in your system, or a leak in the heating pipework itself.
Can a dripping tap cause boiler pressure to drop?
No because that would be just like a dripping tap which wouldn’t affect the pressure.
Can a dripping tap affect boiler pressure?
No because that would be just like a dripping tap which wouldn’t affect the pressure. I’d say it must be something on the radiator circuit which is a closed loop.
What does E119 mean on a Baxi boiler?

What we’ll do here, we’ll show you how to do this.
How do I know if my boiler is working or not?
If the boiler isn’t working and you have no hot water or heating your boiler should display the relevant error code. You can also recognise if the pressure is low as the dial will be in the red. For the right water pressure the boiler should be in-between 1 and 2 in the green on the dial on the left-hand side.
Where are the valves on a Baxi platinum boiler?
Underneath the boiler here there’s some valves. Them valves at the back we don’t touch them, we touch these two front ones. These two blue ones at the front, so this is the Baxi Platinum. Also the same on the Baxi Duo-Tec as well.
Why is my boiler not blowing gas?
This could mean that there is another problem. There could be a leak, a damaged pipe and our best advice is to call your boiler engineer who will carry out a thorough investigation. Remember you’re dealing with gas when you tinker with your boiler.
