What happened to League forums?
Starting March 9, 2020, we’ll be closing down the League of Legends Boards. We know some of you use them regularly, so we didn’t arrive at this decision lightly. However, after looking at how many of you were using Boards, it became clear that the popularity of the platform had decreased significantly.

One such option is Down Detector, which you can check to see the game’s server status. You can access the link to the League of Legends page on Down Detector and you’ll be met with a graph that shows which issues, if any, have been detected over the last 24 hours.

Why can’t I connect to League of Legends server?
It could stem from a faulty internet connection, a disrupted firewall, or something else entirely. The error message may occur during champion selection, at the login screen, or halfway through a game.

We replaced the original League forums with Boards several years ago. The goal was to create a place where players and Rioters could connect outside of the game and have discussions about their favourite topics in League. Many of you also formed friendships within the Boards, and found new carries and/or apologetic feeders for your teams.

League of Legends has a massive player base and a roaring esports scene, but it’s not without its problems. The servers are nothing to write home about. They tend to malfunction, randomly kicking players out of matches or preventing them from joining altogether.
