Are alcohol wipes considered hazardous material?
Please see below. You are correct that under certain specified conditions an alcohol wipe is not subject to the Hazardous Materials Regulations of the USDOT/PHMSA. Therefore, it has no requirements under the HMR for its transportation.

Do lens wipes have alcohol in them?
They are individually wrapped so they don’t dry out. Take as many or as little as you want. They have alcohol on them so the lenses dry fast. I notice a little bit of lint left over after wiping but it comes off very easy because of how quickly they dry.
How much alcohol is in a lens wipe?
Alcohol prep pads typically use 70% Isopropyl alcohol and 30% water. This level of concentration is not safe to use on coated and special lenses. Our lens wipes have a 39.5% Isopropyl alcohol saturation which is milder and safer to use on lenses.
Are sanitizing wipes Hazmat?
There are some regulations. Hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes typically have an alcohol content of over 70%. Since they contain flammable alcohols such as ethanol that can combust or explode, these products are classified as hazardous goods.
Which is better ethanol or isopropyl alcohol?
Isopropyl alcohol is effective against viruses such as FCV at 40% – 60% concentrations. Ethanol however, is more effective at 70% – 90% concentrations against FCV.
