These corals like to grow out and not up, therefore, cutting at an angle will help with faster growth. For encrusting SPS like Leptastrea, cut them using a bone cutter if they are on a rock or by using a saw if they are on a frag plug or tile. For Acropora, a bone cutter or a saw will work the best.

What I have done in the past is put small pieces of live rock, like quarter size, (or anything would work) around where it is encrusting. Then when it encrusts over that piece, I pull that piece up. Another cool thing to do to frag it up is to glue your original piece to a dead staghorn.

depends on where they are on rocks, its fairly easy to cut em out with a dremel rocks fairly soft I’ve done this with GSP patches just run it round at about a 45 degree angle all around then push a screw driver down the crack and prise.
