What is the format of the MBE?
Test Format The MBE consists of 200 multiple-choice questions: 175 scored questions and 25 unscored pretest questions. The pretest questions are indistinguishable from those that are scored, so examinees should answer all questions.
Can you use outlines on the bar?
The largest benefit of making your own bar exam outlines is that it is a great way to review and study material. Consider the process: you’re spending time reviewing material, thinking about what material you need to include and how to organize it for you, and retyping or rewriting material.
Does AdaptiBar have outlines?

- First, memorize one bar exam outline at a time. We’ll say you start with Torts.
- Go to the next section of your outline.
- Take breaks.
- Review the whole outline all over again.
- Put the outline away.
- Get a good night’s sleep!
- Consistently review the outline.
- Continue in the weeks to come.
Does the MBE repeat questions?
The answer is no. The NCBE does not actually reuse old MBE questions. For each administration, the NCBE works hard to draft completely new MBE questions. The subject, content, and format may remain the same, but you’re not going to see any of the same questions on the bar exam that you used to study.
What should I be getting on AdaptiBar?
Generally speaking, AdaptiBar recommends answering at minimum of 1,300 questions throughout your program session and achieving an overall accuracy rate of at least 70% to be in a good position going into the exam.
Are BARBRI questions harder than MBE?
The Barbri invented questions are harder than the real MBE questions. (Real MBE questions are still difficult though.) The Barbri MBE compares you to how others score on the Barbri simulated MBE.
Do AdaptiBar questions get harder?
The AdaptiBar program does not inherently get harder. The technology in the program learns your strengths and weaknesses as you answer questions. It will then adjust the presentation of questions to test your weaknesses.
Is the bar exam just memorization?
With the bar exam approaching, you’ve likely been reviewing materials for weeks. But reviewing isn’t memorizing. And while studying and practice exams help you absorb some rules and elements, your final phase of bar prep should focus on making sure you’ve got all the key bar exam concepts committed to memory.
Is the bar all memorization?
Memorizing rules is needed after all. But the test isn’t about whether you can memorize rules. It’s not even really about whether you can recall the rules. Recalling (in the right context) is part of it… and it is table stakes.
Is the Ontario bar hard?
It’s likely well-lower than the overall pass rate of 90%, though. What about the first question? In our view, assuming you know how to navigate your study materials and have done a few challenging and up-to-date practice tests, the Ontario bar exam isn’t exactly “hard”. But it isn’t easy either.
