The ATHE Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care is a 60-credit qualification and is the equivalent level to an A Level or Access to HE qualification. It has been designed for learners who wish to progress to a health and social care degree but may not have the traditional entry qualifications usually required.

With one to two years’ experience as a healthcare assistant (plus NVQ Level 3 in health), your employer may agree to second you to nurse training. On secondment, you would receive a salary while studying. After you qualify as a nurse, your employer may expect you to work with them for a qualifying period.

From April 2021, any adult aged 24 and over who wants to achieve their first full level 3 qualification, which is equivalent to a technical certificate or diploma, or 2 full A levels, will be able to access almost 400 fully funded courses.
