Renewing a licence If you are renewing a TV Licence, you can renew it from the first day of the month that the TV Licence expires in. For example, if your TV Licence expires on the 30th November, you can renew it from the 1st November. However, if you want to switch to pay by Direct Debit, you can do this at anytime.
