What is dry wash?
Dry cleaning is any cleaning process for clothing and textiles using a solvent other than water. Dry cleaning still involves liquid, but clothes are instead soaked in a water-free liquid solvent, tetrachloroethylene (perchloroethylene), known in the industry as “perc”, which is the most widely used solvent.
What is dry clean only?
Some “dry clean only” materials can stand at least occasional cleaning in a washing machine, though care must be taken when doing so. It is generally recommended that if you are going to attempt to wash “dry clean only” clothes that they be washed in cold water only and using a mild detergent.
