What does St mungos charity do?
We work to prevent people becoming homeless, support people who are sleeping on the streets into secure accommodation and then provide them with the services they need to rebuild their lives once they are there, and after.
Do hostels charge the homeless?
Most hostels charge rent – the amount varies. You do not usually have to pay a deposit or rent in advance. You usually need to claim housing benefit to help with your rent in a hostel.

StreetLink is a website, mobile phone app and telephone service through which people can take positive action when they see someone sleeping rough by sending an alert that connects that person to local services for support. StreetLink is an effective way to take positive action that has longer-term results.
