They are able to transform back to their human forms and change into Werewolf forms when the moon is full. Those who have been Lycans for several centuries have learned to transform at will regardless of the moon, as they have learned to channel their rage.
Can a werewolf turn into a Lycan?
Persons are transformed into werewolves and lycans when another werewolf or lycan bites them. Werewolves, which have their origin in English folklore, are human beings that have been changed into humanoid wolves whereas lycans are humanoid wolves.

How do Lycans find their mate?
a Lycan smells their mates scent before they even set eyes on them and they are already protective of them from that point onwards. Their mates are the other half of their soul and before meeting them they feel incomplete. A Lycan can chose to mate with someone who is not their mate but they will never be whole.
