What is the movie the campaign about?
When incumbent Congressman Cam Brady (Will Ferrell) commits a major gaffe, two wealthy CEOs decide to try to gain influence in their district by putting up a rival candidate. Their unlikely choice is a naive tourism director named Marty Huggins (Zach Galifianakis). Aided by his family’s political connections and a cutthroat campaign manager, Marty soon becomes locked in a dead heat with Cam. Where was the movie The campaign filmed?
film is set in Hammondtown, South Carolina: the set we visited was located just outside of New Orleans, LA, but much of the film takes place in Hammondtown, South Carolina. Both Brady and Huggins have strong southern accents, as do many of the other characters in the film (hence the former title of Southern Rivals).
