Is WSET 1 Difficult?
You’ll need to score a minimum of 70% to pass the exam but you don’t need to concern yourself with that since you’re aiming for +90% anyway. The WSET 1 is also a closed-book exam, so don’t dare take your textbook, study notes, or crib notes into the venue. That will not end well for you.

Thankfully, WSET Level 2’s test is not the most difficult style of exam out there. There is no tasting component (much to Angie’s delight, that comes in Level 3) and many of the multiple-choice questions can be figured out through critical thinking if you can apply logic based on what you’ve learned in the course.

Do WSET certifications expire?
Passing students receive a certificate and pin. I prepared 6 months prior to the exam. Level 1 expires after 3 years and is required to continue to level 2. Approximate cost of the course is $700.
