What is the color run stand for?
Our History. The Color Run, the worlds first COLOR 5km™ event, was founded in March 2011 as an event to promote healthiness and happiness by bringing the community together to participate in the “Happiest 5k on the Planet” .
How do you wash your shoes after The Color Run?
Wear shoes that you won’t mind getting dirty. Bring baby wipes for quick cleanup after the race. Regular soap will often get most of the color dust off. For more stubborn color, try soap with salicylic acid.

The Color Run is a five-kilometer, untimed event. At each kilometer mark, Color Runners are doused from head to toe in a different colored powder. Participants wear white at the starting line and finish the race plastered in color.
Do color runs stain?
If your colours have run and the stain is noticeable the best thing to do is treat the stain as soon as possible. Put your stained item back into the washing machine, on its own, and wash it again using laundry detergent. As long as you act fast, ideally when the item is still wet, the stain should remove itself.
What do you wear to the color run?
Wear a bandana and sunglasses. At each checkpoint along the course, volunteers will be standing by to douse you in a different colored powder. If you plan on getting messy, a bandana and sunglasses will help you keep the powder out of your nose, mouth, and eyes.
