If your trip takes you into the Golden Trout Wilderness area, you must obtain a Visitors Permit and a Campfire Permit. These permits are free and can be obtained from Inyo or Sequoia National Forest offices.

Is Lodgepole Campground closed?
In 2021, Lodgepole is resuming operations. Happy to camp here again since our last visit in 2019. Not all services are available however. At the campground, shower and laundry facilities are noted as closed for the season.

The Monache Jeep Trail crosses into the Inyo National Forest and curves right at Snake Creek. Continue straight into the Meadows or turn right to the first camping area on 20S03A You’re there. Enjoy!
