How do you read KenPom?
The KenPom ranking is based off the differential, or net rating, between a team’s offensive and defensive ratings. For example, last year Virginia was #1 in the KenPom rankings as their net rating was 34.22 (123.4 – 89.2). This year, their 21.84 net rating is 10th (102.4 – 80.5).
How are college football rankings calculated?

What is Massey rating?
Massey’s ratings (which are used to derive his rankings), are based on the simple principle that for each game the difference in the ratings should be equal to the point differential i.e. where ri = rating for team i, rj = rating for team j and yk = score for team i – score for team j for game k.
How are power rankings calculated?
