Each year, Pony Club is proud to offer Championships competitions in eight competitive disciplines and invitationals in our two newest disciplines.

Ratings provide a progression for the mastery of these skills. The USPC ratings system measures each Pony Clubber’s progress through the instructional program. Ratings are achieved by performing specific tests against a prescribed standard of proficiency, both mounted and oral, before a recognized Pony Club examiner.

Pony Club B Test B Test is the equivalent of BHS Stage 3 and allows direct entry at that level, subject to certain criteria.

Gymkhana consists of a series of events designed for competition between riders which bring into play the abilities of the rider and the speed and handiness of the horse. Riders are timed individually while racing through a pattern or competing in games on horseback.
What age is Pony Club for?
Membership is open to anyone up to the age of 25. There is no national minimum age to join The Pony Club, although some Branches/Centres may have their own lower age limit depending on what they offer.
What color is Numnah for Pony Club?
Saddle cloth or numnah – white, cream, navy, brown or black with NO logo. Bridle – plain brown or black leather with snaffle bit (see rule book) Noseband – Cavesson, Drop or Flash only. No bit guard. No boots, bandages or martingales.
Can you wear white jodhpurs for Pony Club?
Cross country colours, a long sleeved shirt or a rugby shirt is absolutely fine. White, beige or cream jodhpurs.
What are the different levels of riding offered in the Pony Club?
Pony Club members who would like to continue to the top levels of riding are offered tracks in Eventing, Dressage, and Show Jumping. Members who choose to follow Horse Management to the highest levels offered can do so in the Horse Management track.
What do you need to know to join Pony Club?
For example a D Level (beginner) Pony Club member would only need to know how to give water, hay, and grain to their horse whereas an A Level (advanced) member would need to know how to identify different types of grains and hay as well as be able to discuss nutritional values.
