Asbestos Category B (Cat B) Non Licenced Removal & Refresher training should be given to those whose work will knowingly disturb low risk asbestos containing materials. Good examples of these types of people are maintenance workers, roofers, demolition workers and supervisors / managers of such people.

What training will remove asbestos?
Workers or contractors who plan to carry out work that will disturb asbestos require a higher level of information and training, in addition to asbestos awareness. This should also take account of whether the work is non-licensed; notifiable non-licensed work (NNLW); or licensed work and should be job specific.
Does asbestos Awareness training expire?
Most asbestos awareness certificates expire after one year. This is in line with refresher training for licensable and non-licensable work which should be given at least every year.
