PTZ Controller is used to control PTZ Camera through RS232 serial port. It supports several PTZ camera Protocols, which include Pelco, AD, Bosch, Sony, Panasonic, Samsung, LG and Canon. There are so many kinds of camera. Most of the cameras can work with Pelco protocol.
What is RS485 communication?
RS-485 is an industrial specification that defines the electrical interface and physical layer for point-to-point communication of electrical devices. The RS-485 standard allows for long cabling distances in electrically noisy environments and can support multiple devices on the same bus.
What is baud rate in CCTV?
The baud rate is the address setting and speed at which communication occurs between your security camera and your PTZ controller or security DVR.
What is Onvif protocol?
A common term you may come across in the IP Video industry is ONVIF. ONVIF – an acronym standing for Open Network Video Interface Forum – is both a global forum and a global protocol that allows different surveillance and security devices from different manufacturers to operate together seamlessly.
How many devices can be connected to RS485?
A maximum of 32 devices can be connected to the RS485 port of Link150. However it’s recommended to monitor the speed of the link because adding too many devices with a low baud rate may affect the speed of data transfer. The following figure explains the connection of devices for 2 wires and 4 wires systems.
Can I use IP cameras on DVR?
All of our DVRs support IP cameras and PoE cameras that we offer. Since DVRs only have BNC ports built-in, a PoE switch is required to connect any PoE cameras over the network to the DVR. You can even setup a standalone security camera system by connecting the PoE switch directly in to the network port of the DVR.

Not all security cameras are compatible with all DVR systems. DVR systems use analog BNC connections to transfer video from the camera. Digital/IP cameras will need modification to work with DVRs, or they’ll need to be used with an NVR system.
