How does SerDes work?
In essence, a SerDes is a serial transceiver which converts parallel data into a serial data stream on the transmitter side and converts the serial data back to parallel on the receiver side. The timing skew problem encountered in a parallel bus is solved by embedding the clock signal into the data stream.
What is SerDes design?
A SerDes (Serializer/Deserializer) is an integrated circuit or device in use in high-speed communications that converts between serial data and parallel interfaces in either direction.
What is a SerDes channel?
What is SerDes Design? A serializer/deserializer (SerDes) is used to convert incoming parallel data into serial data. This data is sent over a physical channel (such as copper twisted pair, fiber, or a backplane), where it is received as serial data. The receiver then converts this data back to parallel data.
What is SerDes in Kafka?
Every Kafka Streams application must provide Serdes (Serializer/Deserializer) for the data types of record keys and record values (e.g. java. lang. String or Avro objects) to materialize the data when necessary.
Is SerDes analog or digital?
Typically, the SerDes are analog based designs, employing phase-locked loops (PLLs) or delay locked loops (DLLs) (Figure 1 ).
What is a SerDes and why do I need one?
The term “SerDes” generically refers to interfaces used in various technologies and applications. The primary use of a SerDes is to provide data transmission over a single line or a differential pair in order to minimize the number of I/O pins and interconnects.
Why do we need serialization in Kafka?
Serialization is the process of converting an object into a stream of bytes that are used for transmission. Kafka stores and transmits these bytes of arrays in its queue. Deserialization, as the name suggests, does the opposite of serialization, in which we convert bytes of arrays into the desired data type.
Why is LVDS used?
Also known by its technical specification of TIA/EIA-644, LVDS is a specification used to transmit data at high speeds using voltage differences. In other words, it’s able to transmit information between a computer and LCD by sending specific voltages.
What voltage level is LVDS?
The common mode range of the receiver is +0.2V to +2.2V, and the recommended receiver input voltage range is from ground to +2.4V.
Where is LVDS used?
LVDS cables are very popular in electronic communication devices like computers. These cables are of great use in networking as well as in analog video interfacing. The length of data transfer cable assembly can be from 1.00 inch to several meters (6-7) depending on the structure and requirement of the LVDS system.
