How do you remove the oiler/oiler from a weapon?

With many weapon/sling combinations the loop/oiler just drops right in. To get the oiler out, push the oiler/sling loop from the front side, out the backside with your fingers if they are small enough. If you were blessed with thicker fingers, some other kind of “tool” may be necessary to assist in this operation.

Is the snap end too thick for my M1 carbine?

I was pretty disappointed when I realized that it was too thick to fit on my Auto-Ordnance M1 Carbine. The snap end fits fine but I couldn’t feed it around the oiler on the butt-stock because the tab is too thick. I tried flattening the tab with a hammer, no joy. Cut off the tab entirely, no joy.
