How much does a plasma CNC cutter cost?
$15,000 to $300,000
Purchase Cost Depending on type, size, and features, a CNC plasma cutting machine could range anywhere from $15,000 to $300,000. That’s a big range, but the vast majority of CNC plasma machines sold today are well below the $100,000 mark.
What is torch height control?
The torch height control uses arc voltage to maintain a consistent distance from the plate while the torch is cutting. This allows the system to maintain proper torch height regardless of variations in the material, or flatness of the cutting bed.
What is the arc voltage on a plasma cutter?
The power source required for the plasma arc process must have a drooping characteristic and a high voltage. Although the operating voltage to sustain the plasma is typically 50 to 60V, the open circuit voltage needed to initiate the arc can be up to 400V DC.
What is arc stretch?
Arc stretching can occur at the beginning and end of the cut. When this happens, the arc cuts into the side wall of the nozzle damaging it. When doing an edge start, the plasma arc should be started with the nozzle orifice directly centered over the edge of the work piece.
What is Mach3 CNC?
Mach3 turns a typical computer into a CNC machine controller. It is very rich in features and provides a great value to those needing a CNC control package. Mach3 works on most Windows PC’s to control the motion of motors (stepper & servo) by processing G-Code.
Should I buy a license for Mach3?
Please don’t buy a license until you have tried our software and are 100% satisfied. Mach3 is very rich in features and provides a great value to those needing a CNC control software package. Mach3 works on most Windows PC’s to control the motion of motors (stepper & servo) by processing G-Code.
How to setup Mach3 plasma setup with pokeys57cnc?
The floating head switch (Z- axis probe) is also an important Mach3 plasma setup. In our case we select Probing input: Pin 19 and connect the switch to PoKeys57CNC between pin-11 and pin-12 as marked on picture below. NO or NC switch can be used thanks to “inv” option in the plugin setup.
What is a Mach3 Wizard?
The Mach series of software is one of the most versatile CNC control packages. Wizards are “mini-programs” that extend the capabilities of Mach3. Wizards can be written by anyone and are designed to allow users to quickly perform routine or convenient operations without the need to have a pre-written G-Code file.
