How do you convert a countertop microwave to built in?
To convert a countertop microwave for use in a built-in application, there must be an optional built-in trim kit available for use with the specific model. There are built-in trim kits for use in a 27″ or 30″ wide cabinet installation.
How do you remove a microwave trim kit?
Insert a screwdriver behind the trim kit at the bottom. Pry it out slightly. Insert the screwdriver at the top and pry it out slightly. When the kit becomes loose, pull it off the cabinet with both hands.
Can you make any microwave a built-in?

Over-the-range microwaves are not the same as built-in microwaves, so it’s important to double check the owner’s manual.
