Who owned Vogrie house?
Midlothian Council took over ownership of Vogrie House and Country Park in 1975 which continues to this day. The Midlothian Ranger Service is now based within Vogrie House. One of their rangers, Alan, was our tour guide of the House for their Doors Open Days event.
Are dogs allowed in Vogrie Country Park?
There’s a route here for everyone, from those who like to take a stroll, adventure with the kids or take a more difficult route. Dogs must stay on the lead in the park area but elsewhere dogs can run free like the wind!

Gates open 7.30am daily all year round although we close when the wind speed is 45mph or over. We will open 1 hour after the wind drops below this speed. There are 11.5 miles of signed countryside paths through woodlands and the Tyne Valley.

What is there to do at Vogrie Park?
The park contains several walking and cycling trails taking you through the acres of woodland and parkland which surround the baronial-styled Vogrie House. There are several pretty water features to enjoy with ponds, burns and the River Tyne running through the park.
What is the age range at Vogrie House?
The centre is open 50 weeks a year for three and four-year-olds. The Tree Top Café within Vogrie House has a Soft Play area. An adventure play area and toddlers play park (now open).
