What can I use for a sacrificial run?

How do you make paste to seal a moonshine still?

- 1/3 cup water.
- Mix the rye flour and water together with hands.
- Roll the flour paste into a snake.
- Once the boiler reaches 115 degrees apply the flour paste to the still.
- As the still heats up the rye flour paste will cook onto the still creating a seal at the joint.
How much moonshine will a 10 gallon still produce?

How much vinegar for a cleaning run on a still?
Fill your still with 750ml of white spirit vinegar, and 2 liters of water, for every 5lt of capacity. Bring the still to a boil, with the condenser water turned on, and let it run until you have recovered at least 1lt of distillate for every 5lt capacity.
How long does a still run take?
There is no general guideline as it is dependent on the individual still and how you run it. My experience is that my 15G keg with a 2″ pot head takes 4-5 hours for a 10 gallon strip run. My 2″ Boka takes 14 hours to run 8 gallons of low wines.
