Is Zur the Enchanter a good commander?
Despite its popularity with auras, Zur the Enchanter is actually a very good cycling commander (out of left field, I know). This is entirely thanks to the fact it can tutor out Astral Drift or Astral Slide, which lets the decks combo off and start cycling into oblivion.

No, Zur cannot attach a Pacifism to Progenitus. Another part of protection from everything is that no auras, equipment, or fortifications can be attached to whatever has it. If an effect would try to bring one of these into play attached to an ineligible permanent, then it just stays where it is.
Does zur work with auras?
Auras that Zur retrieves do not target. So you can put that Plumes of Peace on Multani, Maro-Sorcerer.
What happens if an aura becomes a creature?
303.4d An Aura can’t enchant itself. If this occurs somehow, the Aura is put into its owner’s graveyard. An Aura that’s also a creature can’t enchant anything. If this occurs somehow, the Aura becomes unattached, then is put into its owner’s graveyard.
Is an aura a permanent?
Yes. A permanent is a card or token on the battlefield. An Aura attached to a permanent is therefore also a permanent, and will be returned to its owner’s hand by that effect.
Can you tap an aura MTG?
No, each permanent individually can be tapped or untapped; tapping or untapping a permanent does not tap or untap any enchantments on it. Similarly, tapping or untapping an aura enchantment does not affect the permanent it is enchanting.
Can you enchant a Planeswalker?
There are enchantments that can go on planeswalkers, like Faith’s Fetters or Suppression Bonds. As long as the enchantment’s requirements are met by the planeswalker, it can be enchanted.
Does Hexproof prevent exile?
Can a Creature with Hexproof Be Exiled? As long as you’re exiling the hexproof creature with a spell or ability that says “exile each creature” or “exile all creatures,” then yes. If you’re trying exile a creature with something like Swords to Plowshares, then it won’t work.
What happens if you blink an aura?
Blinking an Aura will let you choose a new object to attach it to when it re-enters, yes. Just note that if you blink something like [[Control Magic]], the creature that you originally cast it on will no longer be under your control.
Can I have 2 planeswalkers in play?
As we mentioned, even though you can’t have two planeswalkers with the same name in play, you can have more than one of the same type of planeswalker in play as long as they have different names.
Is Hexproof safe from board wipes?
Granting hexproof to a permanent or player doesn’t cause opponents’ Auras to become unattached. A card that has ‘hexproof’ is still affected by board wipes that don’t target specifically that card.

How do you play zur The Enchanter?
The strategy of an aura-based Zur the Enchanter deck is one that any player can understand and pilot reasonably well in the first few play sessions. The general idea is to play Zur and protect it as quickly as possible, then enchant it through its own attack trigger combined with spells from your hand.
