Can headers go on any car?
Exhaust Headers are designed to fit a specific combination of engine and vehicle. Just because a set of headers fit a similar vehicle with the same engine, doesn’t mean it will fit your car. The Header Flange must match the cylinder head bolt pattern. It also must accomodate the exhaust port size, shape, and location.
Is it worth putting headers on a car?
In general, a quality set of headers should provide an increase of approximately 10-20 horsepower, and if you’re restrained with your right foot, you may even see an increase in fuel mileage.
Do headers give you more power?
Remember, headers increase horsepower a lot more on a modified engine. If you have enough room to spare for a long tube header, do so. That’ll produce quite a lot of extra horsepower over stock exhaust manifolds.
Do headers change the exhaust sound?
As you just discovered, installing headers won’t make your car sound louder. It will slightly change the tone of your exhaust and improve your performance a little, but your car won’t turn up the volume of its exhaust.
Do headers void warranty?
Long tube headers, high-flow cats and aftermarket exhaust will only void your warranty on your headers, cats, and exhaust system. Obviously, if you get this stuff installed and there’s an exhaust leak, and you take it to the dealership, they will not cover it under warranty.
Do headers pass smog?
Will aftermarket headers cause my car to fail the smog test? Unless the aftermarket headers you purchase and install have an EO stamp, meaning they have been tested by the California Air Resource Board and been issued an Executive Order number, yes they will fail the smog inspection; as a tampered emission component.
