A mix of personalities & interests. Room assignments in the Houses are intentionally made so that each House includes a cross section of the University population, with students from various states and countries who have diverse academic and extracurricular interests.
How long is a UChicago tour?

A: We offer a one-hour walking tour of campus, led by current undergraduate students, as well as a 45-60 minute information session about the University of Chicago and the admissions process led by an admissions staff member.
Do UChicago dorms have bathrooms?
Suites consist of two bedrooms and two half bathrooms. One bathroom has a toilet and the other has a shower. There are music practice rooms and a laundry room in the basement. Study rooms are available throughout the dorm across from house lounges.

All residence halls are co-educational. Room and suitemate assignments are generally made based on same biological sex, however gender inclusive housing is available for students who would prefer to live within the same room with students of opposite biological sex.
Can you get a dorm room with a bathroom?
Most dorms have large bathrooms for each hall. If you’re in a single-sex dorm you may have two bathrooms on your floor available for your use. If you’re in a coed dorm, there may be separate bathrooms for each gender or shared bathrooms.

How often should a college student shower?
While there is no ideal frequency, experts suggest that showering several times per week is plenty for most people (unless you are grimy, sweaty, or have other reasons to shower more often). Short showers (lasting three or four minutes) with a focus on the armpits and groin may suffice.
