Is the Renault Wind a good car?
The Wind is not a bad car. In fact, it’s a reasonably good one. Unfortunately, its launch was bungled by Renault, it was saddled with a quite ludicrous name and was thus never likely to cut it, even in one of the softest markets in the car business.

The concept Wind’s design is like other Renault vehicles such as the performance versions of the Clio and Mégane. The production Wind, however, is heavily based on the Twingo, evident in its overall size and stance, and also its semi-circular door handles exactly the same as those on the Twingo.

There’s two engines to choose from in the Renault Wind range: either a 99bhp turbocharged 1.2-litre, or a bigger sportier 131bhp 1.6-litre. The small 1.2T is badged TCe100 and offers brisk performance, sprinting to the 62mph benchmark in 10.5 seconds and onto 118mph.
