Can I mix green and green coolant?
You can mix two different colors of the same kind of coolant without any problem whatsoever. But if you mix a significant amount of one type in with the other type, you’re weakening your corrosion inhibitors (it happened to my brother, and look at the condition he’s in now).
Is all green antifreeze the same?
If antifreeze is green, that probably means it was made from an older formula that uses something called Inorganic Additive Technology. Green antifreeze is made with special tweaks to the formula specifically to help prevent the corrosion of metals in a vehicle’s cooling system.
Can you mix different brands of green coolant?
The short answer is that you can mix different coolant brands and mixtures as long as they are the same type of coolant. The color doesn’t matter as much since it’s just a dye.
Can I use G30 coolant instead of G12?

What does G30 coolant mean?
GLYSANTIN® G30® is an engine coolant concentrate based on ethylene glycol that needs to be diluted with water before use. GLYSANTIN® G30® contains a corrosion inhibitor package based on organic acid salts (OAT coolant). GLYSANTIN® G30® is free of nitrites, amines, phosphates, silicates and borates.
Is green antifreeze universal?
There are essentially three basic types of coolants: Traditional North American “green” antifreeze, the original “universal” formula that everybody used until the introduction of today’s extended-life coolants.
What color is G12 antifreeze?

What cars use green coolant?
VW, Audi, and Porsche are OAT users, too, but most others have resisted. Instead of OAT, most new cars now use a “hybrid” antifreeze that’s formulated with both OAT and the silicate inhibitors from green (Japanese hybrids have different inhibitors).
