Valthamet Bromide 8mg Injection is used to treat pain associated with smooth muscle spasms. It may be used in cases of dysmenorrhea (painful menstruation) and for reducing post-operative pain. This injection is also used to reduce the first stage of labor.
What is Epidosin used for?
Epidosin (valethemate bromide) is known to shorten the first stage of labour thus avoiding or minimising cervical dystocia leading to prolonged labour. It is a potent rapidly acting cholinolytic, spasmolytic and musculotropic agent.
Why is buscopan given during Labour?
Buscopan (Hyoscine Butyl-N-Bromide) and Scopolamine have been used for pain relief and shortening of labor. Epidosin (Valethemate bromide) has neurotropic and musculotropic actions, resulting in relaxation of cervical musculature leading to quick dilatation of cervix and shortened labor.
How do you administer Epidosin?
This helps to treat cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort. Epidosin Injection is given by a doctor or nurse and should not be self-administered. Take a fiber-rich diet, avoid oily or spicy food and drink plenty of fluids while taking it to make sure you stay hydrated.
