Can you park overnight at Tuolumne Meadows?
Walk-in campgrounds are available seasonally in the Tuolumne Meadows Campground, at Hetch Hetchy, and behind North Pines Campground in Yosemite Valley. Wilderness permit holders may spend one night before and one night after a wilderness trip in any one of these campgrounds. The cost is $5.00 per person per night.

Do you need a permit for Tuolumne Meadows?
A wilderness permit is required year-round for backpacking, overnight climbing, or any other overnight stay in the Yosemite Wilderness. A wilderness permit is not required for day hikes (unless hiking to Half Dome) or for staying in lodging facilities and frontcountry campgrounds.

“Yosemite National Park does not have any wolves.” To find out if there was any merit to the wolf reports, I spoke with wolf biologist Kent Laudon. The known wolf pack in the state is the Lassen Pack, which is up north in Lassen and Plumas counties. Wolves move on their own, so there are no plans to reintroduce them.
