Where does A1 start and end?
Route. The A1 runs from New Change in the City of London at St. Paul’s Cathedral to the centre of Edinburgh. It shares its London terminus with the A40, in the City area of Central London.
Is the A46 to Painswick open?

Is the A1 the same as the M1?
No part of the A1 is called the M1. They are two separate roads that run parallel to each other. Some sections of A1 are called the A1(M), but together the A1 and A1(M) make one continuous route. The various parts of the A1(M) are just sections of A1 that have been upgraded to motorway.

Does Sandhurst flood in Gloucester?
More than 300 people staying on a travellers’ site have been stranded by flood water. The site on Sandhurst Lane in Gloucester has been under water for several days, but at the moment caravans remain dry.

Is M1 or A1 road better?
A1 is by far the least stressful route, less traffic, fewer speed cameras though watch out for the 2 or 3 sections of 50 and 60mph restrictions around Sandy which aren’t all that clearly marked and asscoiated Truvelo speed cameras. M1 is manic at times, if someone has a bump, traffic comes to a halt.
