As NT members car parking is free and this is a regular haunt for us to either visit the grounds or as a base to walk further. Nostell Priory is good on a sunny day or rainy. The interior is very pleasant plus the grounds are nice to explore.
Can you walk around Nostell Priory?
The former main entrance of the now restored Obelisk gatehouse marks the northern boundary of the estate grounds and from here you can either take the cycle path through mixed deciduous woodland or walk back across yet more wild flower meadows.

Unfortunately dogs aren’t allowed in the gardens or the house, however there is plenty of parkland to discover and its very buggy friendly if you stick to the paths. There are a number of trails to discover for varying abilities, some take you through woodland and fields (via paths) or you can off piste a bit further.

This is a National Trust property, we went for one of their ‘boredom busting’ special days. The children could have spent ages in the playground which was spread about in a shady spot in the trees – there was a good range of things for the children we were with (ages 3, 4 and 8).
