Alkali Lake is an important location to the X-Men film trilogy. At the end of X-Men, Charles Xavier tells Wolverine to go to Alkali Lake in order to search for answers to his past.

Can you swim in Barrier Lake?
This glacial fed lake is a wonderful spot to use a kayak/canoe/SUP that you bring or rent onsite. It is also a beautiful spot to picnic with a family, go on hikes but no swimming the water is too chilly.

Jean exits the X-Jet to allow for the X-Men to take off, but she “dies” in the process. Stryker is drowned as well as Alkali Lake is destroyed by the dam bursting its banks.
Why is Storm claustrophobic?

Barrier Lake Day use area is a great stop for some summer fun! There are washrooms available, a nice beach area, good picnic areas along the lake, and you can even get boat rentals from the Kananaskis Outfitters to get out on the water for a paddle.

Why is storms hair white?
It was established that the reason why Storm has white hair and blue eyes is that she is a descendant of a long line of mystical Kenyan priestesses. The hair and eyes are supposed to signify a magical heritage to other members of the tribe.
