How many days do you need for the Bourbon Trail?
The Kentucky Bourbon Trail is a collection of eighteen bourbon distilleries located in and around Louisville. If you want to tour all eighteen distilleries, you need a minimum of seven days. However, there is a lot more to do in this part of Kentucky than just tour bourbon distilleries.
How long is a bourbon tour?

Why is Buffalo Trace not part of the Bourbon Trail?
Buffalo Trace isn’t included on the official Bourbon Trail due to the fact that they’re not on the board of distillers, but this distillery differs from the rest in Bourbon county in that it is free to visit.
What do you wear on a bourbon tour?
Are there any clothing restrictions? Comfortable shoes for walking are recommended. Closed-toe shoes are required for the ISC Barrel Factory tour. You will be outside during portions of most tours, so dress accordingly to be comfortable.

Are reservations needed or required? It is highly recommended to book your tours online and in advance. Most distilleries have online booking options, or you can book your experiences through one of our trusted transportation partners. Specialty tours require reservations.
Do you tip at a distillery?
Leave A Tip! Unless the distillery has a bar and cocktail program, the tasting room is there to sell bottles. If you aren’t planning to purchase or didn’t find a spirit you like, tipping goes a long way toward showing you appreciated at least the time spent with you, if not the liquor.

Is it customary to tip the driver/guide? Tips are always appreciated. If this is a corporate tour, we can add the tip to your overall charge prior to the tour.
How much do you pour for a bourbon tasting?
Step Two: Pour the Bourbons. Don’t go overboard. Limit the tasting itself to three or four Bourbons and make the pours small – about a half an ounce each. You can always come back and pour more after the tasting but the purpose of the tasting is to learn something about the product.
