Trivia. Hiachi’s monstrous form is based off of the popular Japanese urban legend ‘Hachishakusama’ along with her design. When she was alive, she was a psychic, which is a reference to the famous character Samara Morgan from The Ring.

Unfortunately ‘Temple’ completely fails to execute even that right. The whole film is horrendously paced, with much of it being endlessly dull, the ending has the opposite problem of being incredibly rushed.
